CHYK - Youth Camp at Chinmaya Mission, Madurai.






Chinmaya Mission, has organized a youth Camp on October 31 (Saturday) for the students studying XII Std., in Saradha Vidhyavanam, Madurai. to over come the fear and face boldly, their Board Examinations..,

Mr. Raghupathi a retd. LIC official and JC Trainer, handled the morning session and gave useful tips to the students., to face their examinations without fear..

In the afternoon,
Sri Gopalsamy, gave some yogic techniques, to the students, like Brahmari and Nadi Suddhi pranayamas and breath watching Meditation, to overcome the anxiety and fear, while preparing for the examinations,

The evening session was handled by Acharya Br. Srinivas Chaithanya, who gave a power point presentation on the topic "Creation and Motivation" (ஆக்கமும் ஊக்கமும் ) . He gave lot of information and guidance to the youth, which was really an eye opener to them.

The students were thrilled and enjoyed the Sessions. They also requested the Acharya to organize such camps, regularly, in future..

Refreshments were provided to the participants..The students were very attentive, enthusiastic and maintained discipline, through out the day..

CHINMAYA GEETA CHANTING COMPETITION - 2009






Gita Chanting Competition was organised by Chinmaya Mission, madurai, on 25th October (Sun day) under the able guidance of Acharya Br. Srinivas Chaithanyaji, at Sethupati High School. The competitions are being organized consecutively, for the past 12 years, in Madurai.

This year 7543 children from 20 schools have participated at the prelims level, out of which 433 were short listed for the finals. The contest was open for all the students from L.K.G to std IX, who were split into five categories .. A,B,C,D and E ..In Group A, all the participants who recited the portions completely, were given Certificates and mementos. For other groups semi-finals, were conducted in the morning and the winners were selected,for the finals, in the afternoon.

Gifts worth of Rs.1,000, Rs.750 and Rs.500 (Wrist watches and Chinmaya Publication Books), were awarded to the winners of I, II and III places, respectively. Participation Certificates and mementos were given to all the children.

In the morning, Smt Premi Indra Kumar, inaugurated the function, by lighting the Lamp and Sri Indra Kumar I.R.S. (commissioner of Income Tax-I, Madurai) gave the inaugural address. Sri M.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, President, Chinmaya Mission, Madurai presided over the function.
Sri. Thilagar, Secretary, welcomed the gathering. Sri Gopalsamy, coordinator, submitted the report.

The Prize Distribution Function,was organized in the evening.. the prizes were given away by Sri N. Srinivasan (Exe. Director, M/s Reyvish Associated (P) Ltd., and Sri G.R. Sridharan, Tahsildar, Peraiyur and Smt. Sulochana Hariharan ..The participated Schools and the School co-ordinators were honored with the Gifts and shields. Acharya Br. Srinivas Chaithanyaji, explained from Mahabaratha, the greatness of Bhagawan Sri Krishna and on the fourteenth day of the War, how he maintained the equanimity of the mind, even in the battlefield. The objective of this contest was to ensure that the message of the Bhagawath Gita to reach the children, at their young age, he explained.

The Judges, Devi Group Members, Volunteers were honored with the mementos. Sri Krishnamoorthy, Treasurer, thanked the Donors, Sponsors, Judges, School Managements, Teachers, Parents, Children, Guests and the members of the Chinmaya Devi Group, Chyk and Mission, for the success of this grand finale. Lunch and Biscuits / tea, were arranged to the visitors.

Gita Chanting Competition 2009















Bhagawath Gita gives the most relevant message for the youth, especially students. To encourage and motivate the student community Chinmaya Mission, Madurai, is conducting 'Gita Chanting Competition' for the twelfth consecutive year, as per the norms given by the Central Chinmaya Trust.

This year nearly 8000 students from LKG to IX std. from 20 schools in and around Madurai, participated in the Competition. The Students were divided in to five groups and the Preliminary Competitions were held at the respective schools. For the final level competition 433 students are selected.

The Final level competition for Group "B" held at Chinmaya Mission, on 11th October (Sun day). The I, II, and III Prize winners are selected..Mementos are presented to the students, selected for the Super finals.. Participation Certificates were given to all the children.. For other Groups, the Finals will be conducted at Sethupathi High School, on 25th October (Sun Day)....

Refreshments arranged, to the students, Parents and the Teachers,who attended the event. Devi Group, Chyk Members and Mission members, were made the arrangements, under the guidance of Acharya Br. Srinivas Chaithanya......Hari Om!
