SUCCESS beyond SUCCESS..19.12.10 to 22.12.10

The closing of the year was so serene at Chinmaya Mission, Madurai.

At the wake of ‘Uthrayanam’, Swami Sivayoganandha along with the trustees. arranged for ‘Gnana Yagna’ of Amritha Bindu Upanishad and ‘Sthitha Prjna Lakshna’ of Bagavad Gita II Chapter.

The Yagna was conducted by Swami Mitranandha, Acharya, Chinmaya Mission Chennai. from 19.12.2010 to 22.12.2010, at Setupathi High School, Madurai..

Few Nectar drops from Upanishad

When the mind is active, one sees the world. When the mind is quite, one sees the god.

· You are the center of ‘Brahman’ which cannot be measured. Heart of the universe is you realize.

· As the moon is seen as many in the puddles of water. See the ‘One’ in many.

· You are the ‘self’ made of body and mind, ‘self’ is conscious.

· The purpose of chanting ‘Om’is to drop other sounds.

· Meditation is stillness of the mind and not eyes closed.

Drop of Wisdom on Sthitha Prajna Lakshna

· Dependence is the signs of insecurity. This doesn't bring happiness.

· Independence, detachment, fearlessness and agelessness are ‘Sthitha Prajna Lakshna’.

· ‘Muni’ is one, who after sufficient contemplation, is ready to tread the path. He is steadfast.

· Ignorance is the cause of fear. Knowledge is the solution.

· As the tortoise walks in alertness, learn to withdraw from the sensual pleasures.

· ‘No’ should be strong.

· When one is committed for something higher, the sense organs are controlled.

· Desire leads to anger, delusion, lost memory and finally lose wisdom.

· Be aware of your likes and dislikes. Stay in that awareness.

· Practice detachment.

· It is a value to keep the mind in tranquil.

· Thus the wise is careless of the world. They are careful of the lord.

Thus the four days went on in listening, contemplating & experiencing the supreme Bliss ! Our gratitude to Gurudev for walking us from ignorance through these spiritual stalwarts of Chinmaya mission has no bounds.....

Discourse at Sringeri Mutt, Madurai

*Swami Sivayogananda, Acharya of Chinmaya Mission, conducted, ‘Gnana Yajna’ on ‘Viveka Choodamani’, from 6.12.10 to 12.12.10, at Sringeri Mutt, Madurai..

Our pranams to Sri Adi Sankara.. . He lived only for 32 years, but whose works are so great that it is hard to understand , master and practice even in 32 births. Make a beginning right now…

The points in a nutshell

·Rarest of the rare is the ‘human’ birth, which helps for ‘Athma Gnanam’. A priceless diamond is inside. So realize the purpose of human existence.

·This human birth is a treasure given by Divine compassion. Do not squander this opportunity.

·The intellect - the buddhi, so bright & sharp is yet an another gift of Divine.

·Participating in ‘satsang’, listening to Bagavad Gita, and Upanishads will make one’s mind pure & serene.

·What is listened will disturb buddhi. This is a positive disturbance.

·To be in the proximity of a Guru gives an inner strength to a spiritual seeker.

·The Guru sees no one’s strength & weakness, but only the Divine in him. By his sight, the sleeping ‘chit’ is awakened.

·Be in tune with the instruction of the Guru.

·Once such an experience is gained, and then one can be assured of being in the right path.

·Every experience is bound by time. So make an earnest effort to speed up the progress.

·So give up ! (realizing the limitations of material comforts) to get up ! (to spiritual realization)…

HARI OM.

VANAPRASTHA CAMP !

Indeed this was a special session, as we were able to visualize the Divine Beauty of Sri Krishna, beyond words... The art of meditating on Him is ‘Vishnu Dhyanam’. said by Kapila Muni to his mother Devahuti.

The gist of the discourse by Acharya Swami Sivayogananda, on the occasion of the 'Vanaprstha Camp' at Chinmaya Mission, Madurai on Nov.28 (Sunday)

· Every aspect of the Lord is Divine.

· He is ‘blue’as the infinity is equated to blue.

· His golden yellow robe, made of pure silk,is so soft & shining.

· The glossy white ‘vaidehi mala’ adorns his chest.

· The well-knitted scented flowers of the forest attracts the humming bees as it sways on His shoulder.

· The tiny bell sounds of His bracelets &anklets are the music to all souls.

· Thus when the Lord appears in Supreme Manifestation, the world disappears to the seer.

· Then the gnani is fully awakened& his faculty becomes quiet.

· This unparalleled darshan of the Lord,is what one should long for.

· Meditate on the real Lord & not on the statue.

· As long as you are rooted in the Earth, karmas are there.

· Rise above the earthly consciousness to the next plane. Then it is Divinity.

· One always relishes what he owns, so own Him.

· Meditate on His lotus feet. Visualise His nails beautifully cut in crescent form.

· The light that emerges from His nails, will destroy the darkness of our heart.

· As you keep meditating on Him, mind becomes one with the Lord.

· Get firmly established on that state.
