Sri Sringeri Sangaracharya Maha Swamigal visit to Chinmaya Mission, Madurai

Sringeri Swamigal Visited Chinmaya Mission Madurai on 27.05.2012. He was received traditionally with vedic chants by the devotees. He offered flowers at the feet of Sri Guru Dakshinamoorthy at chinmaya Meenakshi Dyana Mandapam. Swami Sivayogananda welcomed the Acharya of Srigeri Peetam..Later His Holiness addressed the large gathering present in the Satsangh Hall.

In his address His Holiness  quoted from Geeta saying that " of all the  knowledge the knowledge of the self is glorified by lord  Sri Krishna. People generally run after the material wealth for seeking happiness. But the knowledge of the Self alone is supreme and relieves one from all kinds of sorrows. By the grace of Iswara alone, one get's advaita vasana.  Such a seeker alone receives the instruction from the knower of Truth. 'Dakshinamoorthy' is a deity who blesses all with such knowledge.

He blessed all the devotees and appreciated the activities of Chinmaya Mission.

On 27th May, Poornahuti of the Shatachandi Mahayaga took place in the Jagadguru’s presence. In the evening of 27th May, the Jagadguru graced the Chinmaya Mission, Doak Nagar, had Darshan of Lord Dakshinamurti and gave an Anugraha Bhashanam. The Jagadguru quoted the Lord from the Gita, अध्यात्मविद्या विद्यानाम् – Self-knowledge is the supreme amongst all knowledge. This is so because while all other knowledge only help us to live in the world, Self-knowledge alone leads to Moksha or liberation. For Jnana to dawn, one has to remain immersed in Adhyatma Vidya. The Lord describes that the means to Self-knowledge is to regard it as the most essential entity in life – अध्यात्मज्ञाननित्यत्वं तत्त्वज्ञानार्थदर्शनम् । एतज्ज्ञानमिति प्रोक्तम्. Only then the Guru will appear and instruct. The Lord’s Grace is very essential here because the Lord’s Grace is required even for an interest to arise in Advaita. Lord Dakshinamurti is a special form representing the Supreme Teacher. Sri Adi Shankaracharya has praised Lord Dakshinamurthy thus – तत्त्वार्थमन्तेवसतामृषीणां युवाऽपि यः सन्नुपदेष्टुमीष्टे । The Jagadguru ended the Bhashanam with prayers to Lord Dakshinamurti to increase the Shraddha in Adhyatma of the Ashram’s members.

Kasi Yathra - RAMESWARAM to RAMESWARAM........

Pranams  to Gurudev, whose vision was to take Gita in hand and travel wide & far of this Bharath.

True to his thoughts, Swami Sivayogananda  took the devotees of Madurai, Pondy, and Karur to Varanasi - ‘a must’ place to visit  by all.

As a tradition, the holy yathra starts at Rameswaram from Agni  Theertham, bath in all the 22 thirthas in the temple premises and  with a prayer to Lord Ramanatha Swamy for the success of the spiritual tour. The tour starts with 49 members, on April 25 and ends on May 6, 2012.

Dip in Ganga, Darshan of Vishwanath, Visalakshi, Annapurani, Sakshi Ganapathy, Dundi Ganapathy, and Kalabairavar on a Sunday evening ‘ashtami  thithi’ is not designed by human caliber. The various ghats, darshan of Thraiyalinga swami jeeva Samadhi and the grand ‘Aarthi’ to the mother Ganga is a feast to the heart.

To Naimisaranyam- one feels like rolling on the sand, walked by the saints, seers, rishis and even by the Lords. Shiva known as Devadeveshwarar, gives darshan to the seekers. If one is tuned, can realize the greatness of vedha vyasar, Sounaka Maharishi, Dadeecha Muni, Shringi Rishi, Swayambu Manu, Sat Roopa & many. Thapo  Boomi indeed.

Chakra thirtham at Naimisaranyam is too true. Gomathy River flows so tenderly. Gupteswar & Rudra River are so unique  that gets into ones nerves. To Chitrakoot- ‘Ram Darbar’ as it is called, is a wonderful stone-cut caves, built by Devas to Lord Rama…in this place river Godavari is called ‘Gupth Godavari’ as she came hiding to touch the feet of Sri Rama.

To Nandi Gram-Where Barathan met Hanumanji is serene & peaceful. To the banks of Sarayu- Every drop is so saintly, tempts one to sit & converse with her. To triveni sangamam- The water just gushes out stretching to both the banks. Sea-like scene makes it awesome. To  Ayodhya- The birth-place of Sri Rama. The place He sat on the throne & showed the world ‘Rama Rajyam’. In the midst of heavy security, a glimpse is shown. To Saranath - a place connected with Lord Buddha was also included in the itinery..

To Narmadeshwar – He gives darshan beside Sita kund. This was our final spot of this yatra. Reveling in these holy places, Swamiji took us to Rameswaram, to offer the Ganga water to Lord Shiva.

Thus in this yatra, two jyothirlinga Darshan was enjoyed. Our gratitude will ever remain with Gurudev who made this possible.  ..
